Operations Crew – R-Zone Game Room
Position Summary
Reporting to the Administrative Coordinator and Operations Managers, R-Zone Crew members manage the day-to-day operations of the R-Zone Game Room in the PRCC. This role focuses on guest service, equipment inventory, and maintaining a welcoming recreational environment. R-Zone Crew members are expected to assist the Operations Crew with event setups or other departmental duties as assigned.
Rate of Pay
- $15.92/hr
Key Responsibilities
Guest Oversight: Monitor R-Zone activity to ensure a safe, inclusive, and orderly environment for all visitors.
Equipment Management: Manage the checkout/return process for gaming consoles, controllers, pool balls, and other recreational assets.
Inventory Control: Conduct regular inventory audits and notify management of any equipment repair or replacement needs.
Administrative Logs: Complete opening/closing checklists and maintain accurate usage data for the game room.
Required Qualifications
- Currently matriculated Rutgers University–Newark student (minimum 2.0 GPA).
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Availability: Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and academic breaks (Winter, Spring, and Summer) to support event fluctuations.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow complex instructions.
Familiarity with various gaming systems and computer equipment.
Additional Information
Performance: Job performance evaluations are conducted each semester.
Systems: Staff will be trained in UKG Ready, 7Point Operations, and Crestron AV systems.
Expectations: Attendance at all departmental trainings, meetings, and programs is mandatory.
