Clement’s Place is a warm, flexible event space within Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall, well suited for receptions, performances, networking events, cultural programs, and small gatherings. Its open layout and informal atmosphere make it a strong choice for events that prioritize conversation, connection, and flexibility over formal seating.

What to Know Before You Book

Clement's Place is well suited for receptions, performances, and informal gatherings that benefit from flexible seating and a welcoming atmosphere.

Use of Clement's Place requires approval from both Events & Conference Services (ECS) and the Institute of Jazz Studies (IJS). ECS coordinates the approval process during event planning.

Because of its layout and fixed features, the space is not suitable for banquet-style seating or large-scale events.

    • HDMI wall plate access on stage and behind the bar
    • Built-in bar and shelving are fixed and remain in place
    • Permanent stage area
    • Small prep kitchen available for catering support
    • Private restrooms located within the space
    • Layout finalized during the planning process
    • Setup and breakdown are completed by the ECS Operations Crew
    • Same-day layout changes may result in additional staffing and equipment charges
    • Alcohol service must be provided by Clement’s-approved bartenders
    • Equipment may not block the rear hallway or emergency exit
    • Space is not appropriate for banquet-style seating or large-scale events
    • Use of Clement’s Place requires approval from both Events & Conference Services (ECS) and the Institute of Jazz Studies (IJS). 

    ECS will coordinate the approval process during event planning. Clients should not contact IJS themselves.
