Accessibility Information for ECS-Managed Spaces

Events & Conference Services (ECS) manages several facilities on the Rutgers University–Newark campus. The information below outlines general building accessibility features.

Event organizers are responsible for coordinating any specific accommodation needs for their guests in advance.

General Accessibility Overview

All ECS-managed buildings:

• Are ADA compliant

• Have accessible main entrances

• Provide elevator access to public event floors

• Include accessible restrooms within the building

• Allow service animals in accordance with university policy

For detailed accommodation planning beyond physical building access, event organizers should consult appropriate Rutgers University offices directly.

Paul Robeson Campus Center (PRCC)

• Main Entrance: Fully ADA accessible

• Elevator Access: Available to all public levels

• Accessible Restrooms: Located throughout the building

• Gender-Neutral Restroom: Located on the 3rd floor near the WRNU radio station

• Accessible Parking: Available in nearby campus decks and lots (see Parking page for details)

• Loading Zone: Marked loading area directly in front of the building (not reserved parking)

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall (RBG)

• Main Entrance: ADA accessible

• Elevator Access: Available to public event floors

• Accessible Restrooms: Located within the building

• Loading Dock: Equipment lift operates from truck height to first-floor level

  • Note: Loading dock doors are single-width only

• Accessible Parking: Essex Lot (primary Rutgers lot behind RBG)

Clement’s Place (within RBG)

• Entrance: Service entrance accessible via RBG loading dock area

• Elevator Access: Through RBG building access

• Accessible Restrooms: Located within the facility

Musicians and production vendors should coordinate access in advance.

Express Newark (EN)

• Street Entrance: ADA accessible via Hahne Building entrance

• Elevator Access: Available via Hahne Building elevators

• Accessible Restrooms: Located within the facility

• Loading Dock: Managed by Hahne Building management (not ECS)

Small deliveries may enter through the building entrance. Larger deliveries must use the Hahne Building loading dock and follow building procedures.

Parking Accessibility

Accessible parking spaces are located in campus decks and designated surface lots. Parking policies and availability are managed by RU DOTS.
